Hay pellets are hay which has been processed into a pelletized shape to create a safe, economic alternative to regular hay bales. Pellets for horses are 1/4" long.

Pelleted hay is a good forage replacement for older horses with poor teeth or the inability to chew hay or graze pasture. It avoids the high carbohydrate loads of senior horse feeds.
Pelleted hay may be used as the entire diet or as a supplement. Feed hay as the "busy-feed" and supplement with pellets to gain nutritional intake.
In a time of high hay prices and inconsistent quality, pelleted hay can save you money! The significant cost savings comes into play because there is no waste, better consistency and fewer pounds are fed.
Easy to handle and store. Pelleted hay requires only 1/4 of the space required by regular hay bales. One ton of pellets can be stored on one 3'x4' pallet.
Pelleted hay has a shelf life of more than 1 year and will not be affected by storage mold like hay bales can be.
Hay pellets may be taken into national parks and forestlands as it complies with teh pelleted feed exemption fuling under 36 CFR 261.50(c) paragraph 3 in teh US Forest Service Internet Service Manual.
