We have buyers calling all the time for different types of hay in all sizes of bales.  These buyers include cattle ranchers, dairy farmers, horse owners, large equine centers, sheep ranchers, lama ranchers and just about anyone who can use hay.  We also get many calls for CERTIFIED STRAW (however, these bales MUST be in large rounds or big squares).  We sell hay for various producers in all parts of the United States. 

Because we move such a large volume of hay, we buy hay at wholesale prices by the TON.  We do NOT purchase by the BALE.  The wholesale price of hay is NOT what it is rumored to sell in a certain area. We DO NOT pay "retail " prices for hay or we can work on a commission basis (20%) of your asking price.  If we work on a commission basis we then sell your hay at the price you have quoted us.  We collect all monies received from buyers via major credit cards and you are paid promptly via Direct Deposit once the hay is loaded and a certified scale ticket is faxed to our office. 

Most producers choose to quote us a WHOLESALE price and we then add our commission to the final sales price to the customer.

We work diligently to sell your hay.  Not only do we use print ads, which are costly, we use internet advertising, spend time and money keeping this site among the top listed sites.  We have a full staff to answer all the calls from potential buyers for your hay. We also arrange the trucking of your hay to the buyer.   You would spend more on advertising and time selling your hay.    We DO NOT inflate the hay prices because of certain markets which are currently in drought or devastated conditions and we would expect you would do the same.

We have an extensive staff in order to serve our producers and customers. 

You may consign to us as much or as little hay as you wish.  We will agree on a price per ton and then promptly get it sold and shipped out.  We have our own trucks to deliver hay or we may use commercial carriers which we contract for.  We do require a written contract for all hay consigned regardless of the commission method.  This is a simple contract which states the amount of time (typically 6 months-but we can write it for a shorter period) we have to sell your hay and the agreed upon price.  Of course it will also state the method by which we will be paid.  Most of our producers prefer the DIRECT DEPOSIT METHOD which allows them to have the monies posted to their account within 48 hours or less.

If you are selling hay, you MUST be able to provide us with your written test results and actual physical samples.  We reserve the right to retest the samples you submit to us.  We may also request a release signed by you so that the analysis lab may release information to us regarding your tests.

WE DO REQUIRE THAT ALL STACKS CONSIGNED TO US EITHER BE TARPED OR IN A HAY SHED  BARN. This helps you and us to get the most possible out of your hay and minimizes the potential of any problems we can have from customers who receive your hay.

NOTE:  IF YOU ARE SELLING HAY FROM AN AREA AFFLICTED BY BLISTER BEETLES WE WILL NEED TO HAVE A CERTIFICATION IN WRITING FROM YOUR STATE CERTIFYING AGENCY THAT YOUR HAY IS BLISTER BEETLE FREE.

 IF YOU ARE PURPORTING THAT YOUR HAY IS CERTIFIED WEED FREE WE WILL NEED A VERIFIABLE CURRENT COPY OF YOUR STATE CERTIFICATION PRIOR TO ANY SALES AND WE WILL VERIFY THE CERTIFICATION WITH YOUR STATE.

ALL PRODUCERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HAY THAT IS SOLD FOR THEM.  SHOULD A PROBLEM ARISE OUT OF THE BLISTER BEETLES OR NOXIOUS WEEDS OR MOLD THE PRODUCER WILL BE 100% RESPONSIBLE TO THE BUYER FOR BOTH THE PRICE PAID FOR THE HAY AND THE TRUCKING TO THEIR LOCATION..

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS ARISING FROM THE HAY THAT WE SELL FOR OTHERS!

Please note that MT Custom Hay is NOT the grower's of the offerings on this site.  We deal in hay that has been consigned to us to market and sell.  While we visit each hay stack that is consigned to us and we examine representative samples for quality, the producer is the ultimate responsible party for the quality of the hay.  While we endeavor to bring offerings of only the highest quality, premium hay we are NOT RESPONSIBLE for the actions of the producers.  In the unlikely event there is a problem with hay that you have purchased please email clear, detailed photo's of the hay in question.  At that point we will then take  your case to the producer and make every effort to get the matter resolved.
